Thanksgiving Trip

We spent Thanksgiving break driving and visiting family! We visited 7 different states (Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Iowa and Michigan). We stayed with Joe's sister and her family in Missouri for the majority of the trip.

We spent an afternoon visiting my Grandpa & Grandma Riches in Kansas, their cow had a baby calf while we were there which was AWESOME, they named him Porter James. We had a lot of fun feeding the cows and riding grandpa's tractor and even got to go on a hay ride. I learned how to make pie's with my grandma and we ate them for Thanksgiving.

We enjoyed staying with Joe's sister Becca and her family. The kids had so much fun playing together and Becca did a great job with Thanksgiving dinner. It was fun to be with family on Thanksgiving and we stuffed ourselves full with ham, turkey, mashed potatoes, rolls, stuffing, cookies and pie.

We spent an evening with my Grandma and Grandpa Smith and their dogs in Kansas Friday night. We enjoyed sitting by the fire and visiting while the kids played with the dogs and toys. Hannah was mesmerized by the koo koo clock. We also enjoyed a yummy dinner together.

We spent a late night with my sister and her family in Iowa before heading home. It was a quick visit but so much fun. The kids love being with their cousins and I loved seeing them.

Tea Party in the Dark

The girls pulled out their tea set and played for hours in the dark with just a strand of lights. I love watching them play!

I don't like to have my kids involved in a lot of extracurricular activities at a young age but Ali really wanted to do dance. I battled signing her up for awhile but she was really persistent so I finally signed her up. She is taking an hour long ballet/tap class once a week and absolutely loves it!

Flag Football

James spent the past few months playing Flag Football. He went to practice once a week and had a game once a week! This was his first time playing football and he loved it!

Originally James wanted to play soccer but we had a difficult time finding a team that didn't play on Sunday (a day we like to devote to family and church worship). After a lot of searching I found a rec team that played on Saturday instead of Sunday, the team was dissolved because not enough people wanted to play. One of our friends mentioned her son was doing flag football and James got excited about it so we signed him up. He played for a team that is part of a Methodist based church called Upward Sports. It was a great season!

Jumping on the Bed

The girls were so excited to find that both of them were wearing pink dresses and asked for me to do their hair the same too. They both got pigtail braids and then we all painted our nails gold. I love that they love matching and know it won't last forever. They had a lot of fun jumping on my bed...normally I don't let them but they both were so cute giggling and laughing that I decided not to say anything and grabbed my camera for some quick shots.
