365: Halfway

6 months ago I started "Project 365," I committed to take a picture everyday for a whole year. This has been a time consuming project but has been a huge blessing in my life. I absolutely love the pictures I have been able to take of my children and the little things that mean something special to me. I love the joy that I find in capturing moments. Taking pictures has helped me to slow down and enjoy life in a whole new way.

These are some of my favorites from the first half of the year:

June 2014 Summary

June was a hot month! We spent the month living with my Uncle Mike and his family in Frisco Texas while Joe worked on his internship at AT&T in Dallas Texas.

We spent a lot of time at the pool!

James took swim lessons with my cousin Brelyn. They took lessons from a ward friend-Meredith Rotz. She was wonderful and after 2 weeks of lessons James isn't scared of the water!

My brother Devin came to visit, it was fun to see him since we didn't get to spend a lot of time with him before we headed to Texas. Devin returned home from serving an LDS mission in Kiev, Ukraine this past month.

Hannah turned one! You can read more about her birthday here.

A week after her birthday she started to walk on her own!

Hannah loves being around so many kids! James and Ali have loved playing and getting to know my cousins.

My Aunt Ally showed me all around Frisco area! We visited Central Park.

We signed up for a library card and participated in the summer reading program. The library was awesome, they had something fun every week. The kids loved the creature teacher and learning about all sorts of creatures.

Frisco has an amazing Park, its called Hope park and it quickly became one of our favorites.
Howdy Y'all...The kids (and I) started saying "Y'all", they even started saying "Yes Ma'am" when I would ask them to do something.

We also fell in love with bunny hill. It was just up the street and had beautiful sunsets and bunnies all over the place.

My Aunt and Uncle had their 5th baby-Brinley. We enjoyed holding her...Hannah could not leave her alone.

We spent the last little bit of the month in downtown Dallas. You can read more about it here.

We loved going to the Zoo.

Hannah was fascinated with the penguins.

I was fascinated with this baby chimpanzee and its mother.

When we returned back to my Aunt and Uncles home the older kids were gone so the girls and Ali had a lot of fun dressing up, painting nails, having movie parties, dancing, playing games. etc. Here they are blowing bubbles.

Ali's favorite was the princess tea party!

Hannah had a lot of fun going through the kitchen cupboards. This was her favorite toy!

My Aunt Ally and I really enjoy quiet time! Having 8 kids under one roof gets really loud. It is totally worth the noise though, I am so grateful that our kids get along well and are good friends.

Week in Dallas

Joe's summer internship was in Downtown Dallas. We lived with my Aunt and Uncle in a suburb of Dallas called Frisco for most of the summer but stayed in a hotel in Dallas shortly after my Aunt had her baby so that they could have some family time with their new baby without our kiddos around. We really enjoyed seeing Dallas at night and all the fun activities it offered.

I left the family late one night to get some pictures of the skyline at night. Even after the sunset it was so bright because of all the lights.

We got to see where JF Kennedy was shot and walked through the sixth floor museum.

This picture is from the sixth floor looking down to the X on the road marking the spot he was killed.

Joe worked during the day so the kids and I spent a lot of time exploring Dallas on our own. We met up with our friends the Mourtensen's and rode the Trolley to Clyde Warren Park and played in the water. We also ate at a food truck and explored Dallas Museum of Art.

We took the kids to see the Dallas temple and then Joe and I took turns doing a session.

One of my very favorite spots in Dallas was on Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge.

 We saw the AT&T Stadium!

The kids and I spent a day at the Dallas Zoo and enjoyed playing at the hotel. James loved having television all to himself, Ali loved coloring and taking care of her dolls, Hannah loved pretending to cook. It was a fun week!

Hannah's First Birthday!

I can't believe that my baby is already a year! Where does the time go?

We celebrated Hannah's birthday in Texas with my Aunt and Uncle and their 4 kids, Hannah loved having all the kids around.

Hannah is a super sweet little girl, she loves to play peek a boo and watch and play with her siblings. She has my eyes and is our first dark eyed baby. She has 2 top teeth and 3 bottom teeth, I just love her smile.

Her new favorite thing is climbing the stairs. We don't have stairs at our house so she has loved going up and down them the past couple weeks. I love her cute chubby legs.

Hannah loves dogs! Every time she sees them she talks in a really high pitched voice and gets really excited. My aunt and uncle got to watch their neighbors dog on Hannah's birthday and Hannah loved it! She would not leave this poor dog alone.

Because she likes dogs so much we had a doggy cake. My Aunt Ali helped make me make this.

Hannah was excited to eat it!

Hannah also had her own cupcake.

She liked it!

For Hannah's birthday we gave her a little remote controlled doggy that walks and barks and

 a new stroller.
