We made it to Texas!!

Joe has a summer internship in Dallas at AT&T this summer. The kids and I are living with my Uncle Mike and Ally and their 4 kids in Frisco.  We have only been here a few days and are really enjoying Texas!!

One of our kids favorite things so far has been all of the bunnies everywhere. We have them in the backyard, the kids set up a little trap to try to catch one. So far no luck but it has been a lot of fun watching them.

The trap..

Ena, Ella, Ali, James, Brelyn and Bradley playing pretend. So far the kids have gotten along really well:)

Ella and Ali at the park.

The girls...

It has been so fun watching Ali have a bunch of friends to play with.

The kids loved making their own popsicles!

Hannah really loved the popsicles. She ate 3 in a day.

I love this picture of Hannah and Joe. She is growing up.

We made it out to Iowa to see my twin sister Holly and her family. We kinda decided last minute to go when I realized that Joe could come with me. (I originally planned to visit later this summer in July.)

We stayed for 5 days and our kids played hard the whole time. Holly, Brian, Joe and I had a lot of fun visiting and catching up too.

We had a lot of fun sitting around the house and simply spending time together.

We got to watch Blake graduate from preschool.

Ali loved painting with Austin! These two just picked up where they left off...

Ali and Austin playing at the park.

They didn't even want to stop playing to brush their teeth.

We went to the Science Museum in Des Moines which was awesome!!

Hannah loved this air thing...

Austin made a great weather man.

James and Blake loved looking at the animals!

Ali loved this crane...

Even Brian and Holly had fun! :)

We had a picnic by the lake and the kids played in this HUGE tree!

We visited the arboretum, it was beautiful!

Ali loved spending time with Holly!

I practiced taking my first panning shot, thanks Penrose family!

We fed the ducks and lots of geese.

We went to the mall and had lunch, went shopping and let the kids play.

We had a great trip and loved spending time with the Penrose family.
Thanks for letting us take over your home and for the fun week. We love you and are excited to see you again soon:)

We spent a lot of time driving this past month and got to see a lot of country. We really enjoyed our drive and the kids did really well for the most part.

We left our house in Provo on May 13th and headed to Iowa to visit my sister Holly. We originally planned to break the drive up into 2 days but ended up driving it all in one day. We left our house at 9 in the morning and got to my sisters about 3 A.M. the next morning. The drive from Provo to Des Moines is a little over 16 hours but we stopped to eat, get gas, use restrooms, etc. Their is also an hour time change between states.

Nebraska (I grew up here)

We left Des Moines on May 20th to head to Dallas. We left in the morning and drove all day and got to my Uncle Mikes house about 9 P.M. The kids were wonderful until the last hour...that's how it always goes:)

We stopped at Liberty Jail in Missouri on our way to Texas. This was the perfect stopping point we enjoyed getting out of the car for a minute and learning about Joseph Smith.

I originally thought it would be cool to get a picture of each of the state signs that we drove through, this is the only one that turned out. We drove through: Utah, Wyoming, Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas. Joe also drove through Colorado and New Mexico.

 Texas State Line

Ali loved taking care of Hannah and all of her baby dolls. Our kids were wonderful although I don't think they will jump in the car again anytime soon.

Joe flew back to Utah to get his car and drove from Provo to Dallas the next week. We had the hardest time trying to decide if we should caravan all together or have Joe fly back to Utah to pick up his car.  I am really grateful we did it this way. It was really nice to drive together!

Living Planet Aquarium

We spent a morning at the Living Planet Aquarium in Draper. It was our first visit and we really enjoyed going together and seeing it for the first time. James loved the sharks and the rest of us loved the penguins.
